Chidorigafuchi was built in 1606 with the opening of Edo.
Cherry blossoms have been planted at Chidorigafuchi since around 1955.
The lifespan of the Yoshino cherry tree is said to be 60 to 70 years, but more than 60 years have passed and it has become an old tree.
Therefore, conservation activities and replanting with new trees are necessary.
